Voice is the #1 preferred method of communication by consumers after purchase, said Ed Fox, CTO of MetTel at the MetTel Innovation Summit. Another factor in extending voice is the cloud – 40 percent of voice communications will be hosted in the cloud by 2023, Gartner predicts.

There’s also a demand for Unified Communications as a Service, with significant growth predicted by Gartner. In 2023, Gartner predicts that 40% of anything bought for a Voice network will be served within the cloud. Another interesting point is related to mobility. In the global VoIP market, especially on the mobility side for over-the-top services, if you’re using Teams, Zoom, or WebEx, putting that device on your phone and doing it over the top, that market has been exploding.
