My name is Dave Lafferty, and I serve as the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Stratum Health System. Stratum Health System is a not-for-profit hospice and home healthcare provider located in Southwest Florida. Our mission is to care for patients with advanced illnesses in various settings, including their homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term care skilled nursing facilities. Every day, we provide care to nearly 2,000 patients across Southwest Florida.
MetTel’s SingleSIM solution plays a vital role in our operations because we frequently encounter connectivity challenges in the rural areas spanning the six counties where we offer our services. Leveraging vendor technologies that rely on various cellular networks is essential to ensure that we can provide consistent and reliable connectivity for our clinicians.
While we are transitioning to using mobile computing tablets and smartphones for clinical documentation, it remains critical that we have a solution that can utilize the best available cellular connection in the patient and family’s location and where our clinicians are delivering care. I often describe Stratum as a mobile-first organization. With over 300 clinicians tending to nearly 2,000 patients, mobility is of utmost importance. MetTel provides both our mobile devices and the necessary connectivity to ensure we can deliver care wherever it is needed the most.
In our service area, we face several rural settings where connectivity can be a challenge. However, through our collaboration with MetTel and their solutions, we are dedicated to ensuring we have a reliable and consistent connection for our clinicians, enabling them to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
