My name is Andy Weiser. I’m with Watermark Retirement Communities, which is a senior housing company founded in Tucson, Arizona, in 1985. We presently have almost 10,000 senior living units around the country in 21 states and have 60 locations. With MetTel’s assistance, my role has been to consolidate the number of providers we had around the country from hundreds down to just basically one, having a single source for ordering, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting. For a company our size, it has been fantastic. It just makes sense with locations all over the country and every time zone to have a single source like myself to help with this.
As PBX has become functionally obsolete in the country, we’ve decided to go with a hosted IP phone solution from Mattel. This is probably the single biggest transition we’ve had to increase efficiency. We now no longer have to pay vendors for the break-fix model of coming in to repair older, obsolete PBXs. And the feature functionality of the hosted IP phones makes everything so much easier. We can tie to cell phones, we can increase productivity. Our staff and admin really seem to love it.
